AI or Extended Intelligence?

I just read this interesting article in Wired magazine called Forget about artificial intelligence, extended intelligence is the future which, theoretically proposed that artificial intelligence wasnt going to have the same goals as sales people and so would never want to assist us to sell.

More useful would be “Extended Intelligence – a system that integrates humans and machines. Instead of trying to control or design or even understand systems, it is more important to design systems that participate as responsible, aware and robust elements of even more complex systems.”

Using technology to augment us as sales people seems a much better idea to me. Vote one for extended intelligence here!
